How does my garden grow?

I am totally in love with spring, having grown up in So Cal where spring is just lame I always said I loved summer best of all, well now I love spring!

This is my plum tree in bloom!

With the help of my mother I grew up to love tulips.

I have a love hate relationship with my backyard... I HATE THE WEEDS!

Okay, blogger won't let this picture be at the end of this post for some reason... this is not my backyard, it's my mom's - last summer she re-landscaped her front and back yard and had this little pear tree plated, I just think it's so cute!

You can't really tell, but these tulips are HUGE - when they are open they are the size of my face, not joke, huge!

I current flower obsession is Camillas! My mom has both light pink and red ones and I have the hot pink ones, we love love love them!

How can you not just love life in the spring time with all the beautiful flowers and colors!?!?!?!?!? I love flowers!

Green Thumb

I started my seeds....


I decided to keep things very simple this year and only plant... Sunflowers, pumpkins, summer squash, zucchini, gourds and corn.

Can't wait for them to sprout and for it to be warm enough to plant outside.

Protest!

So, I have started a protest against this crazy weather we are having in spring, hail and snow... it's just crazy.


I painted my toenails BLACK in protest of this weather and last weekend I went to visit my family and dressed as though it was warm out in protest as well... but the thing is I think I am the one that's inconvenienced by my protest not the weather, because I am always COLD!

Where will the nice sunny spring weather start? Because I am done with the cold, rain, hail and snow!

New Title

I found out yesterday (officially) that I will be getting a new title say around the first of October.

And that title will be.................................

GREAT AUNT!


I am super excited for the new Baba (Hungarian for baby) to come into our family and you better believe we will be spoiling that little one, our last baby is now 15 and he doesn't like being the baby so much anymore.

The baby has fingers and toes (the things parents are concerned about these days) and the heart beat was good... it's too soon to tell if it's a boy or a girl.

I think it will be a girl, but hopeful it's a boy - I know that sounds odd but I think the parents would do better with a boy first. Not that they won't be great parents either way I just think a boy would be better for them first. Anyone else want to take a guess at boy or girl?

And yet with all my excitement, I feel so old!

SHE'S BACK!

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to have my little niece back... she's been living in Germany for like 7 or 8 months - I forget how long, but TOO LONG if you asked me. I got to be there yesterday when she got off the plane. She was so happy to be home. Now if she can just remember that I only speak like 3 words in German so to speak to me in English.

PS - She will most likely kill me for putting this picture up of her, but I think she's super cute! LOVE YA GIRL and I can't wait for our baking parties to begin!

I love love love

To make big pots of soup and freeze them in single portions for a rainy day or something. I love home made soup, but making it all the time is too much work for me... so I make big pots and store it for later.

This soup is by far one of the best soups EVER! Just look at all those fresh veggies!


This one is pretty spicy! And I learned a VERY important lesson. It called for Red Chili Flakes which I had but the seal needed to be taken off, so I used my teeth (don't tell my mom, she paid big bucks of my teeth) and that was a really stupid idea... my lips wear burning for about an hour.

A day in my life...

Recently I blogged about my day in bed due to my reactions to eating beets! Well, here's what my day in bed looked like.


Don't be fooled by the movies... I got a lot of work done that day. BTW... something I have learned in the last few months I don't work well from home. I think my boss thinks I am total lazy head (in fact I am because I am working from home) when really I am very productive if I can go to an office. I think starting next week I am going to go to the library or a coffee shop and try and work from there and see if it helps. WHO KNOWS!

Seven

So my long time friend Michelle tagged me on her blog to blog about seven random fact about myself... as if you all need any more random facts about me.

Well, here goes it... (you asked for it Michelle)

1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of my own feet. I know, it's crazy, but totally true. I often smell my own feet because I love the smell so much. Though (this might be random fact #2 but in all fairness I'll keep it under #1) I am not a big fan of most people's feet over say the age of 2. Most people's feet gross me out. Nothing personal people, just that my feet are better... somehow!

2. I hate making phone calls (I get it from my mother) and the Internet is the worst for people like me because it just encourages my fear (or whatever it is) of picking up the phone.

3. I apologize to ALL road kill on the road for someone killing them... to the best of my knowledge I have never killed anything while driving (well expect maybe ants and other bugs that are on the road that you can't see). It brakes my heart to see roadkill, if it's a deer or a cat or something like that I will often cry. It's just me, I am a baby I know.

4. I love to watch infomercials... unlike my sister I have never bought something from a infomercial, but I love them could watch them all day.

5. My love for country music came about because of a boy... I thought if I listened to country music he would like me (I also bleached my hair blond because he always asked out blonds) we never went out, he dated most of my friends (even the non-blond ones) and I still listen to country music and still wonder about him.

6. I car parent! I yell at people from inside my car who put their child in danger (much like Michelle and car seats) I have called the cops on many people to because their kid is not buckled in while on the freeway or they are letting their toddler run in and out of the street or they have left their kid in the car while they go in and eat at Denny's or shop at the mall.

7. I LOVE PIGS... I don't plan to have a pet dog or cat or even fish one day I plan to have a pet PIG! Unlike most of the world I think they are cute!
